Meet Annabelle! Annabelle is a Scottish Terrier mix and just as sweet as can be. She is approximately 1-2 years old and weighs around 20 lbs. She is house trained. She is also crate trained but doesn't really like it, however will tolerate it for short periods. She would prefer to be an only dog or in a home with one other dog that is male. She seems to fancy herself a princess and wants lots of attention. She enjoys play time and loves to have cuddle time with her human! She is currently learning basic commands and walking on a leash.

Adult Male Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler
BOB and his brother, LUKE are 2 of our favorite dogs -- after 15 years of rescue! (The boys do NOT need to be adopted together). Bob is about 2 years of age and weighs approximately 40 pounds (he could stand to go on a diet). Superb temperament and personality. Calm. Sweet. Great with all people and other dogs. Housetrained, cratetrained, not a barker or a chewer. Bob is the consummate "family" dog. BOB is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.

Is this the cutest dog you've ever seen?????? Bodhi is a German Shepherd/Corgi mix. He is about a year old and weighs 50 pounds. Bodhi is recuperating from an upper respiratory infection, but should be well soon. He is fully vaccinated and heartworm negative and will be neutered when he is well.
Bodhi is amazing quiet and calm. He watches everything around him intently as if he is studying for a final exam. He is affectionate and is crate training well. He has no dominance or aggression and is playing well with a few of the other foster dogs. We think Bodhi would fit well into almost ANY home.

Brooklyn made the cut at a local shelter to go to adoptions! But his time ran out and he was scheduled for euthanasia. The staff thought SO much of this dog they put out a city-wide plea to help him. They were right. He is an awesome dog. Brooklyn is very social, playful, sweet. Part of his adoption contract will require his new family to take him for training classes. He is just a big GOOF right now. Brooklyn would be fine with children over 7 -- he's just a little much for smaller children. He is healthy, fully vetted and ready to find his new home. Young Female Labrador Retreiver
Daphne is probably a pure bred black 'Field' Laborador Retriever. She is small for a lab at 55 pounds. The vet places her at about 14-18 months of age. Daphne was dumped, along with 4 or 5 other dogs, in a neighborhood. The others were picked up by animal control, but Daphne eluded them! We eventually were successful in trapping her and we are now working on her socialization. Our trainers believe she was likely a 'backyard breeder' dog that was never around people at all. She will need a family FULL of love and patience. She has finally started coming up to me (from behind) and wanting to be petted. Daphne will be a remarkable companion.

KIPTYN
Young Male Daschund Mix
Meet Kiptyn! Nobody wanted this poor little guy at the kill shelter. He was rescued just before his time was up. And we’re so glad to have him, he’s got more love to give than you can imagine. Poor Kiptyn was overlooked originally because he had a bad limp – he was actually dragging his leg around. It was a very sad sight. But, we could see his amazing spirit still bright, despite his pain, so we pulled him into our program. At the vet’s office we discovered that he has a broken leg from an old injury of some sort. Luckily, the leg is healing on its own. And now, several weeks into his recovery, he’s putting weight on his leg and gets around easily.
Aside from the leg, which is no big deal, he is in perfect health. Kiptyn is very social with both people & other dogs. He has yet to meet someone he can’t warm up to and charm with his cute tail wags and sweet eyes. Kiptyn is perfect for apartment living – looking forward to sunbathing in the rays of your window and going on walks with you. He’ll listen to your every story as he keeps you company. He loves treats, enjoys riding in the car, and is housetrained! He's so very smart & wants to please you.

She has had a lot of sadness in her life - and was even abandoned by the rescue group who supposedly saved her. When we got Lacey, she was desperately ill and stayed in ICU for many weeks. She is fully recovered and just wants her own people to love her and rub her belly. Lacey has played well with several of my fosters and has shown no aggression. My name is Maxim. I was pulled by my foster mom 4 hrs before I was to cross the rainbow bridge in one of our local shelters. Gail Whelan with Companion Animal Network helped her get me out just in time! I'm a chi mix with the a wonderful temperment. I am 5yrs old, neutered, up to date on vac's, mircochipped. I love my crate and I'm housetrained. I know how to sit and sit pretty. I get along just fine with other dogs of all sizes. I'm crazy about sitting on laps and I'm playful, sweet and affectionate. I weigh just over 10 lbs. My foster Mom says my tail just never stops wagging! At the beginning I lived with a family with children. I was given away to a friend of theirs because I snapped at their kids. You know..kids can be quite mean to little fella's like me. Anyway, my new human took me to the shelter because he didn't have time for me. My foster saw my picture and the first thing she thought was " Snapping at kids? Thats her on any given day." So she asked Gail to save me. I'd rather not live with small children but teenagers should be just fine. I don't know if I like cats though. MERLIN
Young Male Lab/Chow Mix
Merlin is a Lab/Chow mix, approximately 18 months of age and weighs about 65 pounds. This is one of the best "mixes" you can adopt. The Lab loves everyone and is very social; the Chow is c-a-l-m and laid back. Just a great combination. Merlin's story is a very sad one. He was dumped in a neighborhood and left to starve. As the weeks went by, a few caring neighbors tried to get him to safety, but he was waiting for his "owners" to return and he would run away. Every week he was thinner and looked even more sad. One night a woman watched him out her window. He sat down in the street and just started howling and crying. She was determined to save him. With perserverance and a piece of pizza, she was able to get him. He was taken to Arlington Animal Services. The woman called and wrote to as many rescue groups as she could to take Merlin in. Merlin is a Lab/Chow mix, approximately 18 months of age and weighs about 65 pounds. This is one of the best "mixes" you can adopt. The Lab loves everyone and is very social; the Chow is c-a-l-m and laid back. Just a great combination. Merlin's story is a very sad one. He was dumped in a neighborhood and left to starve. As the weeks went by, a few caring neighbors tried to get him to safety, but he was waiting for his "owners" to return and he would run away. Every week he was thinner and looked even more sad. One night a woman watched him out her window. He sat down in the street and just started howling and crying. She was determined to save him. With perserverance and a piece of pizza, she was able to get him. He was taken to Arlington Animal Services. The woman called and wrote to as many rescue groups as she could to take Merlin in. Milo was purchased at a flea market at 6 weeks of age last Christmas. His owners never took him for any vaccinations. He was never allowed inside the house and was fed table scraps, not puppy food. A concerned neighbor checked on him from time to time. One day the neighbor found him lethargic and it was obvious he had lost weight. She was able to talk the owners into relinquishing him to a rescue group. We immediately took MIlo to our vet where he tested positive for parvo. With great vet care, Milo survived and is now thriving in an excellent foster home! Milo is learning to use a doggie door and his foster will be working on leash training him. MILO is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.

MONTANA
Young Male Aussie/Catahoula Mix
I have the most beautiful brown and blue eyes. As if God couldn't decide which would look better on me so I got both. My coat is blond with darker swirls of brown throughout. I remind my foster Mom of a catahoula/husky mix. I weigh around 35 lbs. I am slender with long legs. I am extremely smart and quite active. I am almost housetrained and completely crate trained. I am more comfortable in my crate than I used to be but I don't like to be in it for long stretches at a time. I know sit, shake and I walk nicely on a leash. I get along fine with other dogs and love to play. I will growl at first but I'm just bluffing cause I really don't know how to act in the beginning. No one takes me seriously and we always end up playing. I'm affectionate and gentle. I want to live with a human that will enjoy teaching me new things because I love to learn. I don't know if I like cats..don't think I've really seen one and I would probably be just fine with children but not toddlers..they can be scary. We think that Mugsy is a miniature Bull Terrier mix. His rounded head and wide set eyes look like a Boston Terrier, but his eyes are not 'bugged'. He is a little guy, maybe 18 pounds. Mugsy has been terribly mistreated. He was in too bad shape to take pictures originally, but he is gaining weight now. We think Mugsy is about 1 yr old, so he will stay a small dog. Mugsy will need a home with a lot of love and patience - it will take him a while to learn to trust humans again. MUGSY is up-to-date with routine shots and spayed/neutered.

Remi is about 10 months old and a gorgeous Plott Hound. Likely not pure bred, but close. Remi has a magnificent temperament (like most Plotts) and plays well with other dogs. He shows no signs of dominance whatsoever. He also loves all people - children, adults, everyone. He is extremely smart and very much wants to please you. Even so, what I yearn for is my very own home with someone who will be as devoted to me as I will be to them.

Savannah was a cruelty confiscation. Nevermind the bad story, she is safe now. She is a small Rottweiler mix and as happy as can be. Because Savannah was kept tightly chained, she will need patience in understanding about being housetrained. She wants you to pet her all the time and she gives great kisses! Shafer is about 7 years old. He's so happy to be out of a crate & living in a foster home now!
Shafer loves to be indoors, but loves taking walks outside. A good loose leash walker and will make a great walking companion. Housebroken. Gets along with cats and other dogs of the opposite sex. Not yet sure about how he gets along with young children, but will be fine with ages 10 and up. Happy little guy that just wants to be with you and receive some love, especially tummy rubs.
